You can leave the essential oils out, but I've found that it works better with the oils. I haven't used sage in any I've ma...Hi Vee! I haven't used sage in any I've made, but I would personally use a lavender, geranium, or a citrus essential oil with sage. I think sweet orange or lemon would smell great...or my absolute favorite oil, bergamot would work as well (plus it happens to be a deodorizer).
