60+ Paleo Spiralizer Recipes plus How to Avoid Buying a Counterfeit Paderno Spiral Slicer

Guess who's back...back again? Well, it's been a long time, my friends. It's been a crazy, stressful summer around here, so I apologize for not posting. I hope that you are all enjoying summer wherever you are.

A few months ago, my spiralizer broke. Since I have recommended this spiralizer before, especially to those of you on Facebook, I figured I should tell you guys what I found out. I purchased (what I thought was) the Paderno vegetable spiral slicer back in September, but at the end of May (after only using it a few times a month), part of the handle broke. Turns out it was a counterfeit unit (purchased through Amazon, but sold by another seller).

I also scoured the Internet for spiralizer recipes from many talented bloggers. For those of you that already have a spiralizer or plan to get one, I didn't want to leave you hanging without recipes to use this thing. It only took me a few months to put this together. ;-)

So...after contacting the company, Paderno World Cuisine, this is what I learned from the CEO:

"They are made of poor quality as they are using the wrong type of materials; so they would break or crack easily or the suction feet don't hold or the turning crank snaps easily and so on.

If the unit is sold under a different name, then it's the consumer choice. However, if they are sold under our name, pretending being us, then it's a consumer fraud. We of course go after them but it's a hide and seek game; some resellers pops up at night, others just for a few days, others on different sites, using all the tricks in the book."

I wanted to share this information with you all so this doesn't happen to you. Or if it has, you can get your refund and get the real Paderno World Cuisine A4982799 Tri-Blade Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer. I have a new Paderno spiral slicer now and haven't had any issues with it. I can tell the difference in how smoothly it creates noodles compared to my old unit. (And if you're wondering, I was able to get a refund from Amazon for the counterfeit unit.) So, in order to avoid these counterfeit units, there are only a few places to look for the real Paderno spiral slicers.

Where to purchase the Paderno World Cuisine Spiral Slicer:

Amazon.com: But be aware that other sellers may be selling counterfeit units. To be sure you are getting a real Paderno, make sure unit is by Paderno World Cuisine (directly under name of product) and sold and shipped by Amazon. My was shipped directly via Amazon, but "sold by" another company. From the CEO: "...buy it on Amazon but only if SOLD by Amazon itself. Amazon LLC, as being the seller (not a third party) doesn't sell counterfeit units."

Purchase the Paderno World Cuisine A4982799 Tri-Blade Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer on Amazon HERE

*Paderno recently came out with a 4-blade spiralizer which you can find here.

Williams-Sonoma: The Paderno spiralizer is also being sold at Williams-Sonoma so you can also check them out and purchase one there.

I can't speak for the quality of other brands as I personally use and recommend the Paderno spiral slicer. If you aren't able to purchase a spiralizer, you can use a julienne peeler to make some types of noodles. I used this one for my zucchini before getting the Paderno.

Inspiralized by Ali
I can't share a post of spiralizer recipes without telling you about the website, Inspiralized, that I recently discovered. Some of you are probably already familiar with Ali of Inspiralized. I've shared some (quite a few) of her recipes in the list, but Ali's whole blog is spiralized recipes. Very creative ones! Some are not paleo, but from what I've seen, many of them are or are easy to modify. She also has many tutorials and tells you exactly How to Spiralize. Find her website here.

Enjoy!

You can purchase the Paderno World Cuisine Spiralizer through Amazon HERE. Be sure to check that it is sold by Amazon LLC. (Find the new 4-blade spiralizer here. I have the 3-blade.)

Hi Carol! The one you linked to is not a Paderno World Cuisine; however, that doesn't mean it is a counterfeit. That is simply a different brand (one that I'm not familiar with). The counterfeit Paderno slicers are sold under the "Paderno World Cuisine" name leading consumers to believe they are buying a Paderno. When I bought mine (through the same link unfortunately), it was listed as a Paderno, shipped by Amazon, but "sold by" another company. At the time, I assumed they were just selling the Paderno, but after speaking to the company (Paderno) that is not true. If you are purchasing it on Amazon (and I'm only aware of this with the Paderno), this is what you should see (in image below). Top says by "Paderno World Cuisine" then "ships from and sold by Amazon." It comes it a Paderno box and seems to be a Paderno slicer, but it's a cheaply-made counterfeit. I hope that helps! This post isn't meant to say that other brands are worthless or counterfeit. I'm only speaking of what I know about the Paderno World Cuisine and the counterfeits being sold under the same name.

So, as for the one you purchased, it's not a counterfeit as far as I know. It's just a different brand and from the reviews, it seems to be a decent one. :)

Hi Rose. Not sure as I haven't seen or used it. You may be able to find some reviews for it online. I usually check those out to see what others think.

  9. I just received the Sur La Table spiralizer for Christmas. I'm not impressed. The guider broke upon first use and the suction cups do not work. I will be returning. the Paderno is actually cheaper on Amazon right now. I hope this helps...if not too late

Thanks Angela! Hopefully that will help Rose or someone else. :)

Since I got the real Paderno, I have been very happy with it!

  11. Wow, thanks for the info! You just kept me from making costly purchase mistake! Love the recipes. I have been using a hand held spiralizer, but I am upgrading today to a paderno!

  12. I used the link that was posted and what arrived at my house was a spiral vegetable slicer but the copy made by York Wang. It said Home cuisine, but was obviously a fake. Good thing amazon has great return policies.

Sorry to hear that, Rebecca. Unfortunately, you have to double check the link. The link I posted is generally for the product as sold by Amazon. However, when they are out of stock, Amazon sells through other companies (as far as I can tell). I can't say for sure whether that means it was a fake as I'm not sure exactly how it works, I just recommend checking even when using the link posted. The top should have by "Paderno World Cuisine" then "ships from and sold by Amazon" as seen in image below.

Again, sorry about your experience. Amazon is great (as a their return policies), but unfortunately there are lots of people out there trying to take advantage and sell counterfeit products.

Great, I hope you've been enjoying it! I'm still loving mine and haven't had any issues with it. Sometimes I just use my julienne peeler for zucchini noodles (because I'm lazy, lol), but I love the Paderno. :)

Thanks for posting this. In carefully looking at the pictures of the "real" Paderno and mine, I realized that I, too, have a fake (side where veggies come out sticks out further, different suction cups, handle for slicers not as rounded). I always wondered what the hype was because mine didn't work very well! I contacted Amazon a year and a half after I bought it and explained the situation. They refunded my money and I just bought the "real" version. Comes tomorrow. Thanks for the info!
